Michigan’s Historic Defeat
The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes took a tumbling defeat against the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines with a final score of 45-23. With both teams being undefeated so far, the stakes were high for this historic rivalry game. The game was especially historic for the Wolverines, with it being their first win at Ohio Stadium since 2000.
Ohio State quarterback and Heisman candidate C.J. Stroud finished with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Michigan quarterback, sophomore J.J. McCarthy threw multiple touchdowns of 45, 69, and 75 yards and later ran to score in the fourth quarter. Blake Corum, who had suffered a knee injury, saw little action in the game, and his absence was taken by sophomore running back Donovan Edwards. Despite dealing with a hand injury himself, Edwards ran two touchdowns of 75 and 85 yards.
While the Wolverines were unable to storm the field as they did on home turf last year, the Wolverines celebrated by planting Michigan’s “Block M” flag on the block O at Ohio Stadium’s midfield. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh praised his players for their hard-earned win.
The Wolverines, now 12-0 (9-0 Big Ten), look to continue their fantastic season and soon face the Purdue Boilermakers in the Big Ten Championship on Saturday, December 3rd.
