Should We Be Worried About Fernando Tatis Jr.?

After stepping away from the 2022 season due to the use of an illegal substance known as Clostebol, Fernando Tatis Jr. made a comeback on Thursday, May 20th, against the Arizona Dbacks.

Tatis has been crushing balls like no other in Triple-A. When facing the Dbacks on his return date, he went 0-5 and was very silent all throughout the game. Is it too soon to worry about Fernando, though? The short answer is yes. Although he has been struggling at the plate, he is doing his job in right field after struggling to get everything down for months. Which is exactly what the Padres needed him to do. “It’s a new challenge,” Tatis said. “Definitely looking forward to embracing it. I’ve gotten myself prepared for it.” Said, Fernando.

Fernando made an amazing catch in right field, taking away extra bases for the Diamondbacks. Considering he’s been a shortstop his whole career, this is a big accomplishment for him.

We can all expect the old Tatis to return soon since it’s only his first game back in the Majors after a long break. It is only a matter of time until he’s back into his old form and hitting the ball consistently.
